Development issues
Remember, remember its now the 18th of November!
East Dunbartonshire Council is currently running a consultation process about the future of the area in terms of housing, the environment, town centres, travel and transport and business. One potential housing development is within the wildlife corridor. Although the consultation officially closes on Monday 4th November at 5pm, the council will now accept responses until Monday 18th November 5pm. They are seeking your views and are asking for them to be submitted by then.
The following resources may help you to consider the plans and help you to give your views. There is also a blog section to keep an eye out for any news.

But how do I respond to the Council’s consultation? Have I got enough information?
Whether you agree or disagree with development proposals for the sites currently under consultation, let the Council know what you think and make your voice count. Don’t regret not having spoken out when it’s too late.
To specify a particular site, the following may help:
· To refer to the development proposal around the wildlife corridor, mention LDP12 Fauldhead in your communications with the Council.
· For the potential new housing by the convent, mention LDP10 site next to monastery.
· For the potential new housing next to the playing field, mention LDP11 Waterside Rd/Gartshore Road.
· For the Braes o’ Yetts proposal, mention LDP8 Braes o’ Yetts.
· For the Saddler’s Brae development proposal, mention LDP9 Saddler’s Brae.
(LDP stands for local development plan)
The task of taking in all the information about the proposals is daunting, especially as we don’t all have easy access to the reports and proposals, whether in the Council offices, the library or online. But you know how you want your area to be and you know whether you support or oppose development on these sites (not forgetting, of course, that developers will be asked to provide 25% affordable housing - even if that didn’t happen at Woodilee). Remember that your opinion matters for the sake of what our landscape will be like for future generations as well as for yourself.
So don’t leave it to someone else. Tell the Council what YOU think. Send your opinion and your reasons for it together with your name and address by 4th November to:
Development & Regeneration Policy Team, East Dunbartonshire Council, Broomhill Industrial Estate, Kilsyth Road, Kirkintilloch G66 1TF
Or email these to: development.plan@eastdunbarton.gov.uk

Look out for rubbish
As with any fly-tipping on land issues, perhaps you could report any misuse of the Luggie water and help the council keep the burn clean.
